Hermit Hour is built for meeting people around activities, so safety is part of the app, not an extra. Here's how it works and where to find our policies.
Meeting someone
- Meet in a public place, especially the first time.
- Tell a friend where you're going and who you're meeting. Arrange your own transport.
- The exact meeting place is only shown to people who have confirmed they're going.
- You can leave a Moment, or the meeting itself, at any time.
Report and block
- Report a Moment, a chat message, or a person from inside the app. Reports are anonymous, and urgent ones are reviewed first.
- Block anyone from their profile, from a Moment's menu (the host), or by pressing and holding their chat message. Their Moments and messages disappear for you straight away, and our moderation team is told so we can check for abuse; the person you block isn't told. If you share an upcoming Moment, you choose whether to stay or leave; if you're the host, they're removed.
- Messages with words that break our guidelines are blocked automatically.
Our policies
- Community Guidelines: what's expected of everyone on Hermit Hour.
- Child Safety Standards
- Delete your account: in the app, or without it.
